Kia Motors Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of former tennis champion Todd Woodbridge as its first brand ambassador.
Todd Woodbridge is generally acknowledged as the world’s most successful doubles tennis player, having won a total of 83 titles and 22 grand slams titles, and was one half of the famously successful ‘Woodies’ pairing with fellow Australian player Mark Woodforde.
Todd retired as a player at Wimbledon in 2005 and has gone on to become a tennis commentator for the Seven Network as well as being appointed as the Australian National Men’s coach and the country’s Davis Cup coach.
His values are closely aligned with those of Kia, sharing a common belief that success can be attained through hard work and perseverance. Kia’s close association and passion for tennis in Australia is reflected in Todd and his involvement with Australian tennis. Furthermore, Todd is a down-to-earth, straight forward ‘real’ person fitting perfectly with Kia’s current position of ‘cars for the real world’.
Todd’s role as a brand ambassador for Kia Motors in Australia will be highlighted over the course of the 2010 Australian Open through a TV advertising campaign and series of blogs at www.kia.com.au/tennis - the Kia Motors Australia interactive Australian Open-themed microsite dedicated solely to tennis and the Australian Open.
He will also participate in several Kia projects including new model launches, motor shows and other activities during 2010 and 2011.
Kia Motors has been a proud sponsor of the Australian Open in Melbourne since 2002, celebrating the performance of the most elite tennis players in the world including Rafael Nadal, Kia’s global brand ambassador since 2006, and world #1 Roger Federer.
